Over the past few months we have been delighted to welcome three new clients to our hosted online consultation system OpusConsult. Two have already launched consultations with the third gearing up for one this autumn. Here are the three councils, and an overview of how they have been utilising OpusConsult to help run their planning consultations.

Central Bedfordshire Council

Central Beds

Our newest employee, Daniel, grew up in Central Beds so when we asked him to visit their familiar headquarters in Chicksands to introduce them to our system it was but a short trip down the road. The council are currently preparing their documents for consultation at the end of the year. Having previously used a combination of email and basic online forms to accept feedback over the web, OpusConsult will drastically improve the manageability of their consultations and enable them to increase engagement with the public over the internet.

North Hertfordshire District Council

North Herts

North Herts borders Central Bedfordshire to the south and is the home of the UK’s very first roundabout!  The council have already begun utilising OpusConsult, successfully launching two neighbourhood plan consultations online with local residents already embracing the system. These consultations pave the way for consultation on a full local plan document after it has been formally approved this autumn. As part of the initial set-up we imported North Hert’s existing contacts database into OpusConsult providing a smooth transition to the new system for the council and residents alike.

Colchester Borough Council

Colchester

Essex based Colchester is documented as the UK’s oldest town and the town’s developmental future will now be aided by OpusConsult. Despite being our newest client Colchester Borough Council have already launched their Preferred Options Local Plan document and we look forward to working with the council to help them successfully manage the future stages of their Local Plan, and reduce the huge workload usually associated with large consultations such as this.
